Will somebody tell him it's a copy (and not silver) please. I did and he said he would look into it, but hasn't looked very hard so far. :(

Pretty awful cast copy at an exhorbitant price, and I seriously doubt that it’s silver

Thankfully at that price most buyers will be experienced collectors who can spot a cast fake. It is quite awful as far as copies go. I've reported it and the one above for all the good it will do.

Heres another dodgy one that needs reporting https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unresearched-1650-Commonwealth-Hammered-Silver-Coin-26mm-4-29g/292771820191

It's a pity ebay don't offer a drop down menu that includes copies as a reason to report an item. I can't see a way to inform ebay that describes the problem, but I guess that is just the way they like it - no hassle and fees received. :(

Report under ‘Prohibited and restricted items’  then choose ‘Stamps, currency and coins’  then you have a choice including ‘Replica coins, replica currency, replica stamps’.

Someone fell for it and the item was sold for £30. Then it looks like the seller has developed a conscience and cancelled the sale.

His reward? A negative feedback with the comment "BUYER BEWARE*!Seller likes to cancel fair won bids! A Very Negative Experience**"

Then cancelled a re-listing in which he'd upped the starting price to £100.

That 'Only sell when times are tough son' fake 1933 1d of his sold almost two weeks ago yet there's still no feedback for it. Interesting

Hmmm.............link

Huge edge knock mangle, or striking flaw as the vendor asserts?

Sorry can't seem to transfer a decent image onto the page, but it's in the link.

I'd bet on the mangle or something similar!

Do what?

I see the original listing at £5K has been relisted at a far more reasonable £500. My original opinion remains unchanged.
