I was just looking for information on the predecimal British monetary system... I didn't expect to end up spending an hour learning about coin collecting! Fascinating stuff, you guys - thanks for the pleasure and knowledge (even though it won't likely be useful to this North American - but one never knows, does one?).

Even *North Americans* are allowed to collect ... GASP ... British pre-decimal coins.

This URL might wind up be far more useful than you think! I hear tell that even research papers get discussed every so often ...

Maybe in 2-3 years it will contain the most reference material on British coins in one place that you could possibly imagine. I must admit the forum has grown quicker than I expected, and I sleep soundly, knowing that I have got people together with a common interest and I gain knowledge here myself, as well as customers. I said it beofore: 'The Forum is greater than the sum of its parts'.
