It looks like a Ankh the Egyptian key of life .

By the Thames, our member Mr Danelaw,

Spend many hours whilst looking at the floor.

And there to his surprise, upon the bank,

he realised that he'd found an ankh.

 

Perhaps it's from a ship that sank?
