Very good idea, and so logical. Someone post a list of main UK coin show dates and I'll see what I can do.

Hi Chris – these are the dates for the 2 ‘biggies’

London Coin Fair – 11th June / 5th Nov

York Coin Fair – 29th/30th Jul

Apart from that the usual monthly ones are

Midland – second Sunday

Wakefield – last Sunday

Cheers

Andy

PS Great idea, Mitch :)

If anyone's going to Wakefield on Sunday, see you there. I know Andy will be there.

Being in Cumbria, I'm out of the loop but there may come a time I'll be near one of the fairs. So, very good idea Mitch! :D

How about a book on fakes and how to spot them :-)

How about a book on fakes and how to spot them :-)

It's a great idea in theory, but very difficult and somewhat impractical to produce in practice, 1) because pretty much impossible to know all the fake examples, and 2) the dynamics are constantly changing.

We could do with a thread on here somewhere, drawing attention to all the fakes we encounter, either (unfortunately) bought, or just spotted on the web.

I know it's 11 years late, but maybe something to implement? :D

We could maybe do with a pinned thread somewhere, entitled "Newbies, introduce yourself and outline your area of numismatic interest" or some such.
