Hi all. I remember a few years back purchasing a very nice George III shilling from eBay from a guy called Alan Hunt (I think that was his name).  I subsequently used to receive a huge catalogue of coins by email with hundreds of cracking items (most of which I could only dream about buying, mind you), most of which were hammered and early milled from what I can remember.

Does his name ring a bell for anyone- perhaps he's even on here?

Just thought I'd ask.

Doesn't ring a bell for me, but if you're trying to track him down, you could always look on "my e bay" -> "summary" -> "see orders from" (what year).

It only goes back to the beginning of 2017, unfortunately. But if you bought from him then, his name will still be alongside your purchase and not greyed out - clickable.

Actually, I wish it went back a lot further than just 2017. There can be all manner of reasons why you might want to look back on a historic purchase.

I last had a catalogue from him about 6 months ago. In the past I have bought high grade maundy from him, but from memory the last catalogue was mostly hammered.

True story - we used to have a colleague called Mike Hunt, causing ribald laughter in the office every time he was called by tannoy to go somewhere. For a short time they tried "Mick Hunt", which caused even greater laughter. Eventually they just settled for "Mr Michael Hunt".....no sense of humour some people ;)

I remember at IBM once when the tannoy system operator was persuaded to put out a call for "Hugh Janus". Brought the place to a halt for a while!

The fixture secretary for Oxfordshire Hockey used to be Roy Soles. The name R. Soles would appear all over the place in letters, minutes etc.

Some parents must be really dumb, or sadistic.

For the same reason I put my foot down and wouldn't agree to our second daughter's middle name beginning with C. She is not a car park (NCP) ;)

Knew a guy whose parents didn't think ahead, Alan Ian Richard France. Best part is he was a cargo handler for British Midland.

Many years ago we had a solicitor called Mr Fiddler and an insurance broker called Mr Crook.

Not much changed there then!
