I have noticed something unusual in my 1884 Half Crown as indicated in the pic attached. Note -- within the ear of the Queen there are some markings (very similar to the strings in the harp)

I don't have an 1884 but my 1881 has something similar by the eye, the ear is fine - thought it was probably just bag marks

Just re checked the eye of my 1884 - dont have anything around the eye.  The markings in the ear are  not bag marks -very straight and clear

Bagmarks caused by the reeding on the edge of another coin?

Yes, and those marks appear to be in relief and so die changes regardless of the specific cause (but clashing IMO).
