I've just been sent these pics from a friend, who found this coin in her late Mother's estate,

so I doubt very much if it's a modern fake.

(I've asked for measurements.)

It looks like a Roswell AE3/4 to me. Definitely if the mint mark is AREA51.

A Chi Rho reverse would most likely put it in the 4th century. The eye looks comical, but if genuine will probably be a centenionalis or double.

Ah yes. I think the reverse is upside down? I think I  can just see the curve of the Rho in the bottom left quadrant.
