TPGs are influenced by eye appeal, so it can add something

I would say it's Aef? Maybe ef? Some wear on highest points but has bags of eye appeal.

Based on the detail available, NEF/GVF.

A larger pic would help, especially of the reverse.

Nice detail although the toning does nothing for me.

Grade is complicated by that same big issue that affects hammereds. I think this is where the points system of grading works really well, because it considers so many other factors that aren’t just about wear because, as with hammereds, these coins all left the mint as individuals. All that being said, I’d be very happy paying NEF for it all day long, and the grading companies, using numerics, may well judge it better. The soft centre doesn’t bother me at all, it’s weak quarters I personally do not like, and it’s very well compensated by its other qualities. Lovely example!

(yes, Dave, a lazy copy and paste from me! Time is precious :D )

I'd also say the top end of GVF, would expect 50% of collectors (and 99% of dealers ) to grade it NEF or AEF though.

Lol, Peter, photo bucket is so full of adverts it's really difficult to navigate, they throw so many in there so that you take out some sort of subscription to switch them off

The grade will depend on Lustre. From the image, the lustre is difficult to determine. Based on some of the gold colour in the protected areas, the lustre could be decent but does it extend into the fields? The portrait looks pretty good.  If there is lustre, NGC will likely grade it within the AU spectrum. If lustre is absent, then EF40-45. Best of luck with the submission.

ill put some money on an AU 53/55 weak high points, good lettering sharpness(for 53/55), fields fairly undamaged, rim clean no nicks, no flan damage etc :)

A UNC??? Sorry guys, but basic grading here... there is too much wear even for EF, though NEF would be fair perhaps. I stand by my GVF though possibly it's a bit better.

None of which should detract from its being a very attractive coin which I'd love to pieces if it was in my own collection. But it doesn't even approach Uncirculated.
