Hi,

First post here. Hello!

Is anybody able to identify this hammered coin, please?

I'm new to this and finding it very difficult to know what to look for!

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave and welcome!

These pence can be very difficult to identify properly, especially the first times...

looking at your images I would say: London mint, class 10cf2

Hi Dave and welcome.

I don't know whether you detect / collect or both. This book published by the owner of the forum will set you on course.

Hi Dave Welcome to the forum.

Here's an excellent website for identification of early long cross pennies.
