Guernsey 1 Double 1830 - Striking error or die flaw?

Recommended Posts

I don't know enough about the striking process to say whether this variety is a one-off striking error or a consistent die flaw. Unlike the 'dot before date' variety, I have never come across this before.

To answer the question, you'd have to survey as many of that date as you can, and see if there are any other specimens?

Most likely consistent, due to a damaged die.
