Henry VIII groat - Hoping for authentication

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,

I'm hoping you may be able to provide opinions on a Henry VIII groat I purchased recently. Can I be confident of its authenticity?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Duncan

There's nothing wrong with it, but the question has to be asked, if you were uncertain, why buy it in the first place?

Thanks Rob,

It was a case where the photos of the coin on the site were quite 'modified' in terms of exposure and contrast, and when I received it, it had a very different finish/appearance to what I'm used to. I just wanted to seek reassurance from people who've handled a lot more hammered coins than I have, given my relative newness to the field.

Thanks again,
