Thanks guys for the replies, I thought it may have been the top of a riding crop or walking stick, but the rev does have some sort of design on it, not clear on a scan.

There is a branch or leaves to the rim of the coin/token on rev.

I have searched for 19th century tokens but cant find it. I was wondering if it was a love token of some kind, as having so much wear. its as thin as a worn hammered penny.

It came out of the ground silver so that's what it must be. I don't have any way of checking to be 100%

Its definitely  not a scarborough not at all modern.

Found this today having a search on the net for something completely different.

City of Hamburg.

1725-1768.

1 Schilling.

Silver.

17mm diameter.
