High relief St Gaudens

I was watching Pawn Stars this morning and someone brought in a high relief St Gaudens, the expert valued it at $17k because it was cleaned and he sold it to $12.5k to the dealer.

There was a similar one auctioned recently that caught my attention but I was not sure if it was real or fake
