Has anyone else been watching the new season/series of this BBC 2 comedy?

In last night's episode, 2 references were made to a 'copper penny', although I don't think such a coin would have been circulating in England at the time (Elizabeth I to James I) - is that right?

 I made the exact same point to my wife while we were watching it.

(Cue rolling of eyes and a muttered: 'Here he goes again.'...:D

I suppose it being a comedy we should be tolerant and allow 'artistic-licence' to blur historical accuracy. :rolleyes:
