Alexander111 Half penny

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I know that the halfpenny of Alexander111 is rarer than the penny. I have one with two five pointed mullets and I can't find one on the net anywhere. So is this even rarer than the six pointed mullets?.Regards, Tony Tonnison

The internet is not much use re Scottish coinage as there is rarely much of it available online.

The Spink 2015 guide gives a higher value for the 5 points over the 6 so that would indicate that it is the least common type.

Probably around the £100 mark. Difficult to accurately value as they are not a huge collecting area so sometimes rarity does not equate to cash worth.

Nice half penny. I have a few of his pennys. As john says the internets not much use for scottish coinage,  I've struggled in the past myself to find any information out about coins of Alexander III .

Picture is from Spinks Coins of Scotland , Ireland and the Islands. Anglo Gallic coins 2015.

Regards

Stu.
