Coin Fairs

Being new to coin collecting, I thought a few visits to coin fairs might help me understand the hobby. But having searched on the internet without luck, how do I locate coin events? Martin in Somerset.

Coin fairs are something that tends to be very under-represented online. Some are mentioned here and there, but frankly they're marketed badly.

I don't know about things down there in Somerset, but if you can get to London today, before 5pm ;) there's a massive coin fair at the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury.

It'll be there again on the 11th June 2005, and on the 5th November. Organisers are simmonsgallery.co.uk

Thanks for the prompt reply Chris. I was looking for regional listings of events for example.

I have aquired a Spink 2005 book, and with this great forum & associated sites I hope to learn quickly.

I expect you'll want one of my books too?

And what goes on in here actually can affect what goes in this book:

"Coin News" a monthly magazine have a section "Fair Diary". I'm sure it's not all the fairs everywhere, but at least its a few.

You can get a free trial copy of the mag here:

Re. London Coin Fair.

Shame that I didn't know about this before Saturday 'cos I would have loved to have gone to it (didn't do much on Saturday except have my hair cut!) I work not far from the venue so my travelcard would have covered the travel expense :(

Hopefully I will remember that there is another one on June 11!!

Hi Peter - the London Coin Fair is on 3 times a year.

2 more coming up this year - as you rightly say, 11th June, followed by 5th November.

Hope to meet up with you at one of them. (I believe Chris will also be standing at both.....)
