apprising my collection

Recommended Posts

I have had my collection for a few years, and I would like to check the value of my collection, as I have been asked by my insurance company to give them a breakdown of my collection and there current value.

I have gone back to the place to whom I have purchase the coins from “The Royal Mail” and they informed me that they can’t help.

I have been informed that there is a reference book that the insurances use, but when I do a google, I can’t find any reference to any books, which the company uses.

Can anyone help me, in advising me in what reference book I can use or website?

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum.

I assume your royal mail is a typo unless first day covers do you mean royal mint.

If so i hope i dont dissapoint you but unless limited they may just be coins / box sets sold in the thousands.

Can you let the forum know what you have ?.

Chris, are you talking about the Royal Mail numismatic First Day covers? If so, very few of them have much collectable value.

Most insurers use Spink but not sure if 1st day covers are included in the new version which is now split into 2

If it is Royal Mail First Day Covers then Stanley Gibbons is the standard reference, well it was 40 years ago when I was a stamp collector.
