Brexit and money talk

did you not read how simple the question was on the ballot paper - thats condescending !

I believe when a vote of such importance is happening, its better to be understanding to both sides and make a descision rather than "lets get rid of those immigrants im voting Out"

At least this is a little more open minded than the German politician who said that putting the question of EU membership was far too complicated for the public to understand and that these decisions should be made on their behalf. It might be appropriate to remind all politicians in democratic countries that they are taken from the same pool of people they deem to be too thick to make important decisions..................... maybe that's why we get the politicians we do.

As has been said before, a few from the far right would always vote to kick foreigners out, even if it came from the Labour party. Most people who viewed immigration as a significant issue wanted to see it controlled, not stopped or reversed. That incidentally included a significant number of those who would fall foul of a mass ejection. Anyway, this country rightly has a proud history of assimilating foreigners for whatever reason, the only difference being that previously we have been in control of our borders. I believe the last large influx under those circumstances were the Ugandan Asians.

This made me laugh

Brexiters June 16: "Our government need to take back control!"

Brexiters Nov 16: "Don't give them the control!"

No. If bremain had won by the same margin as they lost, there would have been no more discussion and things would have carried on in exactly the same way as before. So in my view, nothing is up for debate now. We leave.

Plus, we bow to the majority will, regardless of our own opinion. That is what democracy is all about.

I actually remember having a chat with my parents the day before the vote saying that my intention was to vote leave, and I knew they would both vote to remain because they reside in Spain for long portions of the year. At that time I stated that I thought remain would win, but it was my intention that if they did I would do my best to try and go forward with a positive view of the EU and would accept the decision because we needed to resolve this issue and move on.

It was never going to be a sensible debate because the risk was too great for the main drivers on both sides of the debate. It would have been nice for the media (even portions of it) to take a sensible view and try and encourage a sensible debate, however the media unfortunately had their own interests and therefore did not represent the balanced view but the view of their own self interest....and again that was both sides of the debate.

I just can't see what aspect of this question is so difficult to understand (me being condescending again...sorry :D)

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?

What's happened today plays right into the hands of ukip especially given their unjust lack of influence in parliament whilst the pro remain SNP has 56 MP's from a fraction of the votes ukip got in 2015.

Now Sturgeon's getting involved saying the 5m Scots have to remain whatever, it is looking increasingly like the best option is for her to go for independence again and join her mates in Brussels as a sovereign state. Divide the country's assets pro-rata for the various populations and go our separate ways. The way she is rattling her cage, she might have a greater chance of success if the question of keeping Scotland is put to to the rest of the UK as well.

If you accept a majority as the decision, she shouldn't have a leg to stand on. Or maybe she doesn't.

I'd vote for their independence in a heartbeat.

Everybody knew that before the vote. It was even discussed on here.
