Hi

Can anyone tell me if this coin is worth anything and if so, how I could go about selling it please?

Thanks

Hazel

Hi Hazel,

Unfortunately it's not worth anything, it's a bit too closer to looking like a washer than a coin! Nothing rare about this date which would be the only thing to give it any value when a coin is that worn. There is a variety for this year that less than 10 examples are known for, but this is just the normal variety..

Hope it helps.

Thanks for replying.  I have got a couple of other coins, a 1948 farthing and a 1917 coin with 3 on it (three pence?), would you know anything about these too?

Hazel

For the majority of coins it's going to be a case of the condition that they're in, so if the condition is similar to the penny then probably not worth much. Although the 1917 threepence will have an intrinsic value due to it's silver content (.925), but only a few pounds, if that. The 1948 farthings are ten a penny, only a few quid tops and it would have to be in excellent condition even to fetch that.
