Not a coin, but a counter used for games; card games in particular. Likely made in Nuremberg and imitating an Austrian coin. Probably late nineteenth century.

I used to have a few of these they are very common , not seen it with that "JETTON"  reverse though.

The above poster is right , its german , and a card counter not sure about the nuremberg though , it does not in my opinion have anything to do with lauer

Lauer wasn't the only game in town. Nuremberg had many small button and die stampers, just like Birmingham.
