Hi all !!

I ask your help for this coin that I can't id. I thought that could be an Indian coin but I didn't find anything of similar .

the weight is : 17.8g

and diameter is : 29mm.

It's Nepalese I think. 5 paisa.

This is the correct Krause entry I think:

I wouldn't know how to recognise the date though.

With a 20% weight range and 10% diameter variation listed in Krause, it may well not be an issue. Also, Krause is littered with mistakes, notwithstanding the fact that what they compiled was a fairly monumental task, so could easily be wrong.

Somewhere on the web will be a forum dedicated to Nepalese 5 paisa pieces, sad gits that we are.

Yeah, I think it's right but surprised the weight is high when the example's in the smaller range for diameter. As you say though, could be an error. Monumental task is about right too - fantastic reference is Krause.

Where do I sign up to the aforementioned forum? :D

I think the date reads VS1977 (1920).. which would make it KM 690.1?
