Copy Coins on eBay

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Don't you hate when searching through eBay you find a coin up for auction with a title like: Rare 18th Century Shilling No Reserve and then after an eight page history lesson for a description you din out in the last sentance it is a copy and not the real deal.

Well I got so sick of it I started a Petition at Petitions Online to try and get eBay to require Copy in the auctions title. If you agree please sign the petition.

I'm impressed at some of the big wigs you've got on there.

Eric Tillery and Ira Stein.

Actually i don't really like Ira all that much but he's a big name on RCC.

Thanks for the support guys.

As for the big wigs I have been sending emails to every coin club I can find. I also sent emails to all the Coin magazines as well as the ANA Board members.

Thank you all that supported and signed my Petition. I regret to inform you that because someone decided to use my Petition as a personal vendetta against a fellow eBay member I have decided to ask the people at Petitions Online to remove the Petition from their site.

Hopefully the signatures that I have collected so far were enough to help my cause.

I hope the person that caused this trouble is happy.

However, I do believe it was not a total lost. I did get the below in an email from a contact at eBay:

On a brighter note, our managers in the Coin area are already considering tweaking the policy

 Shame! But you get them on all sites, the spoilers. Recognising them is the problem, but even then, you can't stop them from joining in.:(

Just remember my motto, below!!

Maybe there is still hope:
