Hope the piccies will help you sort out Victoria's halfpennies. The mint really did have problems with the hardness of bronze when they started using it in 1860. I have 35 different examples dated 1861 with various dies, re-entered letters, dates etc.

This is the prize for everyone to look out for.............1875 Obverse 13* (Iain Dracott's designation). Found in 2005 and only 1 known at the moment. I bought it because it was a really nice example of reverse L, then found it was an unknown obverse

My New Year resolution is to take a more active interest in halfpennies! I've ordered Mal's CD plus I found that the Apr/May/July 2004 issues of Coin News with Iain Dracott's articles are still available here - http://www.tokenpublishing.com/backissues.asp?pid=2

I've got spares for April and May, but no July - and for the majority of issues since 1998. If anybody needs anything please PM me.

Happy New Year Mal.

Another one to look for. The halfpennies are becoming more of a challenge than the pennies !!

Looks as though Mal had two accounts and there are more details about the CD on the thread page immediately previous to this one.
