    More Pennies

I don't know if this helps pictures below from the LCGS website of the slabbed 1946 penny in question.
  3. EF for me maybe a tad better. Nice looking coin 😃
  4. What a difference lighting can make when buying or selling a coin. Good natural pictures can make all the difference on your choice of a coin. Below images of a recently bought 1880 Farthing for my collection. 1st Images taken by Seller: 2nd Images taken by me with daylight lamps. 3rd Images taken by me again using daylight lamps with reduced brightness at slightly different angles.
  5. Mike to be honest and on a closer look I think that my 2nd photo's are the closest to what it looks like in hand. The trouble with buying online you only have the sellers pictures to go by. Although some times I have bought a coin going by the sellers pictures, and have been pleasantly surprised to find that the coin is better in hand that the photos portray . So some pictures don't alway portray a true likeness.

  8. Took some more pictures of the 1898 Victoria Sixpence. Still cannot capture the tone as it is in hand. Does it look any better??
  9. Moving into the Victorian section of my Sixpence Collection at last. With this 1898 example bought as UNC with delightful tone. What are your thoughts please. My pictures don't do it justice, looks much better in hand.
  10. Got my eyes on you 😊

    Size does matter!

I use Quadrums all the time now and also use the aluminium cases to keep them in. Below links to what we are talking about. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pack-of-10-Lighthouse-Square-Coin-Capsules-Quadrum-Size-14mm-to-41mm-or-self-cut/162267618417?var=461243893428 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S6-Cargo-Coin-Case-With-6-12-x-50-mm-Blue-Felt-Quadrum-Coin-Trays/142016467972 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-Lighthouse-Square-Coin-Capsules-Quadrum-Sizes-14mm-To-41mm-50-x-50/141039214434?var=440161639080 Hope that is of some help.

Welcome to the forum Bryan. I have been here for a while now and everyone has been so helpful with any question I may have had. Enjoy your new hobby😀
  15. As you may or may-not know I have been collecting Encased Farthings for around 2 years now. I have been working on a dedicated Website to showcase these interesting pieces. I have been helped by two other collectors of encased farthings from Canada and the USA, and also with the help from several other kind contributors. I am now at a point where the website is up and running, so would like some feedback on what you all think of it so far. You can find the Website here https://encasedfarthings.com/ I do hope you can take the time to have a look and give me some feedback. I of course welcome any contributions to this project. If you have any other information, pictures to add. I do hope you enjoy your visit. Regards Mick

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Me either and I have been on eBay 20 years. You learn something new every day😀.
  18. A bit more fun to watch for the next couple of weeks. I will be interested to see how Boris does 😀
  19. Not my type of thing. Enjoy your new purchase 😃
  20. Thanks, Peckris 2 not sure I agree on the grade my thoughts were GEF / AUNC although I am not the best at grading these sixpences. I will agree with you on it not being that difficult to find, except I do think it is harder to find one at a decent price because everyone seems to think their one for sale is the only one and hike the prices up.😀
  21. Hi, Paul yes I have managed to get a 1923 sixpence, see below. What are your thoughts on this one?
  22. Another space filled in my sixpence collection. 1927 proof, really enjoying filling the gaps in George V and finding some dates challenging to find a nice grade.
  23. Another upgrade to my brass threepences. Not an easy one to find in this condition. I would grade this as BU but with a slight flan flaw on the obv. what are your thoughts on this, please.
