  2. First of all I've just gotta say again dont shoot the messenger. I'm not a collector I'm selling on behalf of sombody else.... dont shoot him either by the way..!! lol I might just get upto 30 posts tho so I can list in the correct forum. As you can see from my ebay feeback tho I am an honest person 500+ feedback. I found you a nice coin tho on this website if you looking for under £100 http://www.predecimal.com/florin-1862-good-rare-p-22431.html Fine looking coin of a similar year only lacking any detail on both sides otherwise very nice, sure you'll agree...???? :-) plus as im sure you will find with my coin there is just so much fine crisp detail there it hardly even looks old..... seems inline with other ebay prices plus other sites. I'd call £250 hopefull like I said the cgs 2 of 3 was £600 on theire site in similar condition, I suppose its what your into. £350 for a patina that developed all by it's self you could watch one grow on it, thats 24 years of entertainment!.. Anyway rant over
  3. Hi yes it's the same old florin, I started at 450 as there was an identical coin No. 2of3 this being 3 of 3 an those dies for £600 on london coins. Obviously that one was uncleaned over the year I've reduced it incrimentally. Sure theres florins with original toning on there for that pice but personally I dont think there is really any better coins for the price in better physical condition. I'm going to wait it out on £250 serious offers concidered.......bearing in mid also that the slab has a lot of scuffing on and the camera flash kind of bleach's the image a bit. p.s do you know how to list in for sale?
  4. Hi thanks for letting me know, I've just tried to move the post but for sale seems to be grayed out on the create content menu..??? Im currently signed in, do you know if you have to pay to list for sale ? Offers may be concidered if your interested in any of those items.
  5. I have this coin for sale on ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1872-Victoria-Gothic-Florin-CGS-Graded-Slabbed-Davies-dies-3A-3-3-High-Grade-/201807267740?hash=item2efca6879c:g:eBIAAOSwPRlXnCtL 1872 Victoria Florin CGS graded and slabbed 37727 _ FL.V1.1872.01 Top cross does not touch the border beads Davies dies 3A - 3 of 3 The coin it's self is in very good physical condition only one or two small edge knocks and a few very small surface marks on the front. Unfortunately the coin has been previously cleaned removing some of the original toning however it has been authenicated, graded and slabbed by CGS as Cleaned - Very Fine. I think this may have been a higher grade had it not have been cleaned..??? To look at the coin with the naked eye it appears darker than in some of the pics due to the flash and the light scouring that is highlighted but isn't really visible to the eye. Best pics 1,4,7. There is a similar coin on http://www.londoncoins.co.uk/?page=retailv2_details&uin=0011462 The population report suggests that this is the 3rd graded by them having only recently been returned, however not being a cgs member myself I can't verify this. The capsule has also been scuffed on the front as you may be able to see in the pictures, you could probably get it re slabbed at a reduced rate having already been graded but you'd have to check on that.

1871 Florin for sale davies 3A 3of3 cgs slabbed

it really isnt going to sell for £45, I might try to get some less flashy pictures that maybe exagerate " scouring" .. hhhm or maybe take it out and fondle it then give 25 years for more patina...???? lol

1871 Florin for sale davies 3A 3of3 cgs slabbed

Hi yes this post is a duplication as I couldnt post in for sale. London coins sold the first of it's kind for £420 in 2015 davies 3A dies the second they had was up for sale for £600 thru 2016 I pressume that has been sold now, this one the 3rd is in similar physical condition in my oppinion in terms of the detailing that is still present and the sharpness of it. It would appear that it had at some point been cleaned around the centre section altho this isn't really noticable to the naked eye (I'm not an expert) it is visible on the pictures with bright flash which has also been unbrightened on picture editing so that the physical detal could be seen. I was going off of the second ones price minus £150 due to the damage done to the toning .
  8. Yh might be one of his older works..??? different coin tho, greek kimon i believe. I was just hoping it might be genuine 50 b.c period lol I've just learnt they even had forgeries then too! Can't trust anyone.... any days!
  9. Hi I have an 1872 gothic florin in pretty good condition, I've done a bit of research on it and found that it's die number 13. While searching for similar coins I've only come across 1 or 2 from this die number and they were really worn. Does anybody have any information on which die numbers fetch the best prices/ how many coins were minted per die. Thanks
  10. A bit the edges aren't turned up, the head faces the otherway - different head too but the dolphins yes and it looks black with odd bits of brass showing. I think it's athena's head with 4 horses and a charriot on the other side
  11. Might be a good idea, I could get to a scanner sooner but not today.
  12. A warm welcome from me too. CGS are the only recognised UK grader (as far as I know), it will cost you £13.95 + 2-way postage if you value it below £200, £23.75 from £200-£2000 Lots of pros and cons, but if high grade and selling it could well be worthwhile link Fancy posting pictures? Hi thanks for the info I'll look into that, I havn't got a decent quality camera at the moment just a mobile phone so I don't know if the pictures would be any good. Seen as your a forum god tho you might be able to help me with something else tho. I also have a pendant in the style of a Decadrachm Of Syracuse it appears to be brass and cast as a pendant. I've not been able to find it in any searchs yet probably a replica??? but it looks quite old, any ideas what it might be?
  13. To be honest coins aren't really my thing I've just got a collection mainly new stuff but I've worked out that that is the only old coin really worth anything as it is in pretty good cond, I'd say its about EF. I'm currently trying to find a buyer for the new stuff so I'm a bit busy but just wondered if there is a UK version of PCGS or something where it could be graded by an expert maybe put in a slab..???? how much would that cost?
  14. Thanks for the responces so far, I just thought as with some coins variations affect the price and 13 seemed to be quite a low number compared to the majority that I've seen 100+. Whats the best place to have coins valued/graded in the UK?
