    1841 half crown help please

Hi I'm an amateur collector and was hoping somebody could give me a definitive way if finding out of this coin is authentic or not. It's an 1841 half crown (maybe) All help appreciated Adam Curtis

Yes I have, I received it yesterday! The CGS service was horrendous but they are going through some sort of re structuring apparently.

    1841 half crown help please

It has the number CGS 65. I'm torn whether to hold on to it or sell it at the moment! Out of curiosity, where would be the best place to sell the coin?

    1841 half crown help please

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I thought I'd update you guys. I finally managed to send off the coin to CGS and it is indeed genuine! It's been rated as GEF, so I'm very happy obviously.

    1841 half crown help please

Just a quick update guys. I haven't sent the coin off yet but I took it to a coin dealer who specialises in 1800-1850 English coins. He weighed and examined it and said it's definitely real and above fine quality. I'm apparently very lucky

    1841 half crown help please

My rhubarb kitchen scales say 15g but grams are the smallest increments it does I'm afraid.

    1841 half crown help please

Thanks for the quick replies I'm afraid I don't currently have access to accurate weighing/measuring equipment but I can tell you the coin is non magnetic and has been in the family for 50+ years. The Queens head is upside down when compared to most coins so if I turn the coin over its top the queen is the right way up. I'm still struggling to get good photos Again all help/advice appreciated Adam Curtis
