    Opinions please 1820 Half Crown

Hi all, could have some opinions on the following please before I take the plunge? 1820 Half Crown I believe it to be EF but wanted a second opinion. Also do you feel the toning is natural? Is there anything about this that concerns you? Does it look polished etc? Thanks Non

    Advice on photographing coins

As the title, I want to get a few pictures of some of my latest coins to post on here and wanted some generally advice on how to achieve a good picture. I have a semi decent SLR with Macro but aside from using good lighting and using the macro function is there any other pearls of wisdom you can share?

    Opinions please 1820 Half Crown

Thank you for the fast replies. I was worried that it had been polished. Also is that sort of rainbow toning gnerally frowned upon?

  6. I am just trying to buy some relatively cheap coins to try and practice my grading etc... hopefully these are not deemed to be awful. All in I think the three cost me £28.

    My latest pocket money purchases...

Thanks for the feedback, I am still not overly confident with my grading, I spent most of this morning at the coin fair doubting myself and asking others for their opinions. To see feedback saying I am not a million miles away is good to read.

    Advice please...

Hi all, I am after some opinions on two Halfcrowns up for auction on ebay (yes I know ebay /sigh) George III 1817 George IV 1824 I really would apprciate people thoughts on what a fair price for this would be and what grades you would give to both. Thanks Non

    Advice please...

So the toning is suspect in your opinion?
  13. So my Florin arrived today. Should the obverse and reverse align? I cannot find anything saying anything else other than that they should. Thanks Non
  14. Here is a cheap (couple of quid) purchase for today:
  15. I am pretty happy with it, as you all know, I am new to this but I am collecting because I want to not to make some fast money.
  16. Thanks for the feedback, I am guessing you never made a mistake in your life? If I planned to flip it and make a quick bit of money I would be concerned. I am not so I am not. I will learn from my mistakes Worse case scenario I would make a small lose/get my money back on ebay.
  17. 11.3g so it seems to be the correct weight?
  18. I will weigh it once I am back from work but this is th ebest picture I can get on my phone.
  19. To add I know that the Obverse is aligned upside down to reverse but is such a variation in the alignement normal?
  20. A couple of pictures to show how the reverse is not aligned:
  21. I was hoping I get get some opinions on these please with regards to grade before I offer to buy them: Thanks Non
  22. Purely becuase I like the look of it and the only sixpence I have looks like it has been dragged across the floor.
  23. Cheers, I think I can probably get it for under £10 so I may go for it. Thank you all for the feedback.
  24. What do you feel a fair price for the 1931 would be?
  25. Thanks Azda, I did notice that, these are down as unc but I very doubt that mych ware just from being in the bag.sWhat would you deem as a fair price for each?
