    1841 Queen Victoria halfpennies.

Here's the other one i purchased from this seller. A few light scratches but still at least EF condition in my humble opinion. Ok for £50.

    1841 Queen Victoria halfpennies.

  5. Hi again guys. Sorry, but being new to your forum, i totally lost the thread for putting posts on. Hence duplicating what i said. Anyway back to the 1841.....yes the greed got the better of me and i bought another for the BIN price of £50. The coins are not identical and could be what you call bag marks or something. Anyway i,ve requested politely for a nice one. Thank you all for your help on this. Appreciated and regards.
  6. Hi Prep. A nice collection of coins you,ve inherited there. Certainly not scrap with the 1905 worth about £300 at least in that condition.Best way to clean grubby pre 20s coins is to get a piece of tin foil. Lick the shiny side, put the coin on it, wrap it air proof tight, hold it inside your hand for 3 or 4 minutes, then take it out and wash it with a sponge and warm soapy water. Hey presto like new and no abrasives involved! !

    1841 Queen Victoria halfpennies.

Now if it was say, a roll of these 1841 halfpennies he has, would they not all be in mint condition? The coin i bought plus the other one he has listed (twice) both have faults in them and at best, in my opinion, could be described as almost uncirculated.

    Weight loss on worn coins.

Hi. Can anyone inform me as to what weight loss due to wear on a halfcrown there would be in fine condition. Thanks in advance.

    Weight loss on worn coins.

Well i hope its not copied. It certainly looks the part but weighs 13.95 grams. Just wondering if that would be an acceptable of weight loss due to wear.

    Weight loss on worn coins.

Thanks for your reply. An uncirculated coin would weigh 14.1 grams. Coins will surely weight less due to wear. I was looking for a rough estimate what a halfcrown in fine condition would weigh.
  22. Hi. Here is a picture of a real one. Hope it helps.
  23. Hi again. Can anyone give me any information on this old worn George III 1762 coin? Weight and dimensions roughly as a threepence, probably silver? The nearest i could get was a quarter guinea. Was this possibly be a fake coin from back then? Any help appreciated.
  24. Here is a picture of a real one if it helos at all.
