    Ebay's BEST Offerings

Here you are Mike. The difference in colour is due to light conditions. There's no difference 'in hand'. £175 delivered? A cast iron bargain.

    Ebay's BEST Offerings

No, but will take one when I have time.

    Ebay's BEST Offerings

Lovely for detail but clearly polished within an inch of its life. I bought this one on eBay a couple of years ago for £175 inc P&P. They're out there if you're willing to wait.

    1679 Crown - Is this 3rd or 4th bust?

For comparison here are two 1679 3rd bust crowns sold by LCA. The first they graded Fine, the second Very Fine.

    1679 Crown - Is this 3rd or 4th bust?

You're very welcome Weaver. I'd grade Fine. Maybe one or two other members here may like to offer their assessment?

    1679 Crown - Is this 3rd or 4th bust?

Hi Weaver, Third bust. One thing: on downloading your photo I noticed part of the jpeg title says 1679 VF. This coin isn't VF.

    More Pennies

To clarify: List price was £98 plus p&p, but the seller was offering a seasonal 10% discount on all coins so my total, for a very nice good fine Gouby X, was £91. And I still have the one I'd grade fine, also bought from eBay a couple of years ago, for £1.50 inc p&p.

I think this is the one Blakey means: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-BIG-George-V-PENNY-AUCTION-1911-Penny-as-shown-Low-START-/294648763044?hash=item449a6f52a4%3Ag%3AtW0AAOSwFCBhtJ~q&nma=true&si=x5XhPMN40oppHpvvgkGwNxXi%2Fvs%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

    More Pennies

Today I bought one, grading a tad lower, for £91 inc p&p. Still a nice bargain and I'm happy with it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1911-Penny-Rare-Hollow-Neck-Variety-George-V-as-shown-/115160689644?hash=item1ad01cabec%3Ag%3AzE4AAOSwck9hyyWb&nma=true&si=x5XhPMN40oppHpvvgkGwNxXi%2Fvs%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Yes, pre obverse die crack would be a bonus but surely a realistic grade would be NVF?

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Again, not eBay. This time Colin Cooke (not the man himself, obviously). AEF, and delightful. AEF? Delightful? Er....
  17. I would think die-fill most likely as I can see a ghosting of that missing upper horizontal.

    1763 Northumberland shilling

Just taken a closer look. Yup, deffo all wrong. Avoid.

    1763 Northumberland shilling

    Worryingly mushy.
  20. I've attended lots of recitals and performances in the Lady Chapel, a programme of Tallis being particularly memorable. The acoustics are wonderful.
  21. On four visits now I've stood inside St Mark's in Venice and, every time, have been overwhelmed by the beauty of my surroundings. Old places of worship: y'can't beat 'em. Should anyone on here find themselves in the vicinity I recommend Liverpool's Anglican cathedral. Even us Irish Catholics have to admit the building is astonishingly beautiful. 70 years to build, and every stone carved by hand.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Well at least 'Dimondgirl/Marlybob' had sense enough not to attempt it with one of these..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393711712995?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3Da000239f2fef477e813ef7a68a48e948%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D255237698933%26itm%3D393711712995%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWeb&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1

    Looking For a Low-Grade 1622 Sixpence

No. It's to be placed in a shoe on a wedding day. Just buy a cheap half decent example and don't overthink it.
