  1. Yep, £15 for up to 5 coins to HK! I queried value, and she breezed over me with '£15's the charge'

And then I'm sure I heard her say under her breath 'now FO, will you, I'm trying to get some sleep here!'

    Made me laugh that QUALITY

  2. Sorry in answer to your first question think they are scarce but seem to now be turning up more often as more people such as yourself start looking for them.

With regards L.C.A. strong possibility the are hyping them up , as more are found the prices drop. There is obviously a lot more than the six in the satin book fifteen years ago.

  3. And I've been seething over this one for several days, but now its finished I can't spoil anybodies anticipation. THIS IS NOT AN OPEN 3 ! This is the same seller who has given us a selection of mis-identified rarities over the last couple of months, and made good money; we have already discussed his 1860 mule penny, for example.

Any collector aware of the variety should really check in Gouby before wasting his money, the variety identifiers are clearly described, and not present in this coin.

And I didn't wish to draw attention to the type until an auction had completed on one that I think might be (at less than £3, a reasonable gamble, will update if correct).

Yes i noticed this last week but not an open 3. Its one i have not got and you will be lucky to have found one for £3 there must be plenty of people looking everyday as quite easy to spot.

Hope it is though would be the buy of the year.

Hi folks. I saw on another topic the Half-Penny 1/1 varieties. But I don't see anything listed here or anywhere else on 1861 penny varieties other than the listed varieties. For a change this was an easy spot. I wonder if you could tell me if this a new or existing variety and possible value. I think if I have done my research correctly (slim chance lol) its Obv 6 Rev D . Any help will be most appreciated :D

Zooie...Here is a Half Penny with the 1st "1" way above the date area!......

That one really stands out bob
