Well done, boys.

I have messaged him several times telling him that this coin is not unique or rare but he ignores me and persists to fraudulently advertise it on Ebay.
Maybe a few more messages from other collectors might convince him ?
-
I messaged him to say that it was not the 1927 reverse and to mention the confusion of obverse and obtuse - he then changed the description to the "rare 1927 obverse". I then messaged him to say that it was not the 1927 obverse (M.E.) but he has not replied. Fortunately, no-one has been daft enough to bid on it.

Very common occurrence.

On Richard's draft on his halfpenny page he (and I) assumed yours is a reverse G as mine is, but that was when we thought they were both the same obverse 6. Now we're sure yours is obverse 4, wonder if it's a different reverse too? Can you post a picture of the reverse?
Any updates yet, Bob ?

I have emailed Michael to see whether he has any copies left.

The closeness of the V to the linear circle supports this.

I bought this coin as a forgery in November 1986 for £14 and sold it as such a few years ago for £30.

The seller doesn't own the reverse pictured so heaven knows what was sold, if anything.

Clicking on the link only brings up the left hand side of the coin for me - it's the right half that will tell us the obverse type.

Yes, I'm conscious that I'm telling the manufacturers of these coins where they need to improve although that assumes that they're trying to produce absolute copies, which I'm not sure is true.

I'm building up some details of these fakes/replicas on my varieties site:

I've just looked at 8 photos of 1893 over 2 and they all feature that weakness in the horizontal bar.
