    Peter is right, the majority of MD coin finds are this colour. This one is green, maybe the trickery of the light gave it a silver look.

    Thanks peckris for the info on this one. About the colour of the metal do you mean the whole of the coin or the bit above the recut one?

    It's hard to say because of it being a rough farthing.What i can say is the bottom arc of the 5 is a lot wider but that maybe wear and tear.Here are two images, one of the 1850? and one of an 1839 by the way the 39's not mine.Imagine a 5 struck over the 3 would that make the bottom arc wider,i'm not sure?

    Thanks paul and colin,i now know it's 1850.But the 5 looks like it's been struck over another number.This is not a very good image.Just getting to grips with this photography lark.If i get a better image i will post it,thanks james.
  10. Hi guys just been looking at this 1853 half penny.All the letters in victoria look double struck.I'm just a newbie to this hobby but learning a great deal off you guys.Take a look at the images and please make a comment,by the way is this a standard 1853 or 1853/2,cheers lads.
  11. Hi guys been looking at a 1858 vic one penny of mine and the T in BRITANNIAR is totaly split down the middle,any idea's.I will list a photo as soon as i can.Any ID on that 1853 vic one penny,thanks jim.

  14. Thanks tom for your advice but if tou take a closer look at the T there's no scrape on the metal,like the N.

    Thanks guy's,i have a 1853 one penny of which iv'e been looking at closely.I have noticed the beads on the colon next to DEF are a different size.one bead looks full the other one not.Any idea's guy's,cheers jim.
