  1. Hello Folks I was wondering if someone would be knowledgeable about the coin my friend has found, not being internet savvi, I have took it under my wing to try and find out for him what he has uncovered. The crude coin has the Lion and Crown stamped onto one side, and on the other it appears to be the numbers 344 It was found on a site, were Cromwell once was, in Northern Ireland, the site, to my knowledge has never been touched. Any help would be appreciated. thank you, best wishes Will
  2. Hi Everyone Thanks very much for your help. Is it possible that it is pre 1815?, the reason I am asking, is that Prince William of Orange was reported to have been in this area, around the 1690's, being Dutch, I assume this is the most likely link? any ideas? many thanks Will
  3. Hi Danelaw, Thank you very much for the reply, yes it appears to be lead, would you have any idea of a date? many thanks Will If it's lead...it looks like a seal. Cloth seal for bailing up bags.
