Also does anyone else feel that although they spend so much time and mony on their collection, it doesn't seem to get any bigger? Sometimes i feel depressed looking at it, saying to myself 'after all this bloody time, come on, only TEN sixpences? Only TWELVE shillings??' :)

Yes - especially with my British collection - 20 pennies down, what, another 250 to go?

  2. I'd look further afield - I started collecting Australian coins but there are plenty of other interesting Commonwealth things to collect and I've found it hard to stay focused. I like to collect coins and part of that is acquiring new coins.

I started like that. I only collect 1887 Victoria Uk. 10 years later and 200 different ones in the collection still over 100 to buy. When you think you have done it write the book. Yes over 340 to find

Gosh I didn't realise it was that many - I guess that includes all the gold mintmarks and varieties?

I still think it interesting and that even though people may not care, there may be some true rarities, not just Jamaica struck by the Royal Mint in the mid-80s to mid-90s period.

Agreed - I actually had some luck with the Royal Mint a few years ago and found out there was an authorised mintage of 50,000 for 1983 Cook Islands sets but only maybe a tenth of that actually ended up being produced.

  4. Happened again this week (Wednesday night I think).

Here's the result of pinging the site.

  5. I attempted to post in the thread I started about the forum being unusable of an evening (it happened again) but I got an unformatted page with the following text:

    403 ERROR %s ERROR
    pixel_trans.gif

Sorry but the page you have requested has encountered the following error:

Please feel free to browse the rest of my website
You may also use the "Search" feature to find the product you are looking for
    I apologise for the inconvenience.

There was also a side-bar showing the sections of the main site (the shop).

I meant one connected by cable from a recognised internet service provider, as opposed to 3 or 4G from a phone or non wifi tablet.

Oh right - yes, it's a wired connection, not 3G or anything like that.

As your the only one that seems to be getting the issue at the moment, it suggests that it could be a problem your side of things? I would try clearing your cache and cookies and see if that helps it at all.

Next time you have the issue, see if you can ping the forum from CMD ok. If that just sounds like jargon, sorry, I can elaborate if you need help with doing that.

I clear my cache whenever I turn off my computer (daily) and I think I tried pinging predecimal.com during the week when I couldn't access it but I think I got no response.

Sometimes heavy user activity will degrade the performance of certain websites for some curious reason. The fact that it's happening in the evening, your time, and especially on a Friday, might suggest that this is the case. Are you working from a connected ISP router?

Not sure what you mean by connected ISP router.

Anyway, I tried to access the site again three times during the week at around the same time - each time it wouldn't load but everything else was working fine. I'm posting this now early on Saturday morning and it's fine.
