    Mudlarking find

Had this coin up from the Thames. I don't know where to start to be honest. Any pointers anyone? It's 20mm and silver

    Mudlarking find

It's infuriating to be honest. It does look like Britannia on the reverse. I have a Roman intaglio ring to take to the Museum of London that I found on the river. I shall take the coin maybe the coin expert will fathom it Appreciate the replies.

    Treble Struck Louis xv?

Quite right! All those sailors getting in and out of boats coming back from shore leave, three sheets to the wind.
  5. I think I can make out three strikes on this 1729 Louis. Can anyone here make anything out?
  6. I 'get' the rarity value of coins, but I fail to see the pull of this one. Estimated at auction at £30,000-£35,000, it sold for £58,000. Would you, if you could, be happy to look at this and pay that amount?

    Unique Coin Of King Stephan

The estimate was very close though. Making £7,000. In a few of the national papers as well....well done by the way.

  23. It's a Dutch Custom House seal. At a guess after around 1815.
  24. If it's lead...it looks like a seal. Cloth seal for bailing up bags. Bit like this one https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR9I9gSJ3vgNYyyRn6w522yxGDcvMsRlGEH4Hzhji3UWpR6ZzD_
