  1. Hey guys, could anybody help me with the grade of this halfcrown? Thanks, Robbie

    Hi Everybody!

Hi again, Yep, it's a shilling alright. I'm not too shy, it cost me £180, but without the hole it would have been worth in the thousands. I know that there's a note at the start of Spinks saying most collectors would prefer a common coin in excellent condition than a rarity in poorer condition but I've never agreed; I really like rarer, older coins, and am willing to make sacrifices such as the plug in this coin in order to have it in my collection Robbie

    Hi Everybody!

Hey Matt, Sure thing - when I collected back in 2011 my dream coin was one of those, a Newark siege coin. During the Civil War Newark was under siege and out of desperation they chopped up silver plates for use as coinage; after the war they were often pierced for use as pendants. This one has been badly holed/filled but without would likely have cost me 10 times more than what I paid for it due to the good condition. I love the history of these coins so they're my favourite Robbie

    Hi Everybody!

Hey guys, I joined this forum in late 2011 really in order to sell my coin collection rather than discuss it; however, as one or two of the people to whom I sold coins can confirm I've been feeling this was a mistake and thus buying back some of my previous coins and overall collecting again. Hopefully will become a regular member of this forum, here are a couple of the members of my new collection Robbie

    1845 Victoria half sovereign

Hi everyone, I've sold a large amount of coins on this forum before and now it's time for another! This is an 1845 Victoria half sovereign, listed in Spinks as more valuable than any of the other dates of this series. Asking price will be the Spink value in fine - £300. PM me if you're interested! Sorry for the poor images; I can get better ones on Saturday! Robbie

    Some simple rules.

I hope my 'sale' fits in with the forum rules - apologies, I only saw these rules AFTER posting, so they're not within the £100 limit :/

Well... fees are so large on eBay at the moment at 10% that I really couldn't be bothered with it. Plus, this way I know they're going to good collections!
