1887 shilling was under £10. 1674 = £50? although i like the coin, thats a sweet price. The Edward I would be a very cool plectrum. Brian May uses a sixpence. I think it's in quite a collectable condition. it's slighty worn but all is there and nothing is missing To do that would be like cleaning a 1919kn penny, which was one of my worst mistakes. i never intended, just got put into the wrong pile. Greetings, i am Patrick A.K.A. Hello 17 As most of you know, i collect coins. Now, as i am still legally a child you would think i collect decimals or penny's from the 60's? Well i have a (in my opinion)nicer collection. ranging 700 years in length with alot of silver. My 5 favorite coins are my silver penny, my 1674 Charles II farthing , my 1799 Halfpenny , my 1887 silver shilling and my 1902 Low Tide penny. As most of my generation have knack of listening to modern music which is cr*p. My music of choice is Rock, ranging from the 80's to Now. I am wanting to learn the guitar, using a SG - Style guitar as my learner guitar (under £150 ) When i have learn't the basic and what else, i am so going to treat my self to this guitar : http://www.fender.com/en-GB/products/classic-vibe-stratocaster-50s My other hobbys are jewellry making , astronomy and polishing I also like computers. Study hard and get qualified, don't waste your money on smoking or drinking, don't lose sight of coin collecting, and don't get led too far astray by girls. Good luck !!! Just as a matter of interest, how do your classmates and friends react to you being interested in coin collecting ? (or haven't you told them) I know when I first became interested and mentioned it to a few, they couldn't get their heads round it and stared blankly at me. I don't like alcohol. best to 'waste' money on coins. or other shiny things. My friends didn't really care. some asked how much it's worth. i say , it is worth between 250-500 (with my eyes). Weirdest coin incident was a few years back when i was playing at school and my 'aquintance' found a half franc from the 60's

You are absolutely right. Sorry, I was remiss. Yes, you need, as above pointed out, and: STUNNING! RARE (and more ambitious permutations thereon, depending on how strong a stomach you've got). Invent a new Variety: "L@@K, Stunning, RRRRare, Unique! UNC, DIPPED, 1 not over anything really, OVERPRICED TAT, Major INVESTMENT, MAKE MONEY NOW NOW NOW EASILY!!! That's about it. Still missed anything? I have a 1806 farthing in sweet condition (has some crud in letters) , i could say : 'RARE 200 year old 1806 farthing WOW !!! Don't miss! I don't like L@@K , it's looks suspicious.

Hello everyone. i am thinking of selling some coins and i am thinking, what is the best way. here is a few ideas: - Beginner's lot. Are you a coin collector but have only a few coins. this will be a big boost to what you have. inlcuding some silver coins to give you the jump that is needed. - I could auction some off. but my collection isn't worth alot. I'm not sure about my local dealer . he's prices are quite good i think. i have sold some already to him. but for my not so coins, he says he doesn't want so i will have to find another way to sell them. This isn't me ending my reign of collecting. i am just refining it to late victorians shillings and some pennys.

My first batch was face value american pennys. 1999 came out looking like it was brand new. 1980 was clean but was toned, gave it a weird look 1989 was tone on the outside. 1919 came out looking weird. lots of wear. 1988 , i forgot 1939 had wear aswell.

Except the tw*ts at the bank won't take them, or £5 coins either..................... So how are they legaltender. more like metal paperweights

Hello all, known or new. I have been to my nearest dealer, sold a few, purchased a few. also , a gift from the us. What i purchased today: (£6 Spent in total)(Grading estimate, not got my books on me ) 1889 Shilling (VF) 1930 Penny (nVF) 1935 Penny (nVF) 1966 Half Penny (EF, couldn't find a UNC, at all!) What i sold today: 1854 OT Penny (EF?) £15 1853 farthing and 1900 farthing £4 Scrap silver coins £4 Quite.. Pleased, The 1889 is an amazing price for a silver coin that is over 100 years old. 1930 and 1935 are filler until i get old enough to get a job. The 1966 Half Penny is for a year set (Thanks Peckris for the 'silver' coins in that set Also i got some american coins , from circulation. research them. turns out that a 1983 'P' mint mark Quarter is scarce in good condition. i got it! and the other one (D mint mark).

What about the bicenntial quarter? got one of them as well, probably from a roll. Extremely common. They made over a billion of them. For Bicentennials (quarter, dollar, half dollar) the only ones with value over face are the proof/silver uncirculated ones. You can tell this because they have an "S" mintmark. For US coins, there aren't many true rarities after 1955. You've got a few condition rarities but that's about it, the silver coins are worth silver scrap (1964 and prior halves, quarters and dimes are all 90% silver, 1965-1970 halves are 40% silver) but the rest of the intended for circulation stuff is really only worth anything in high grade. There are a couple of varieties (1970 no S proof dime) that are worth quite a bit but most of those there are only a handful known. However, with US coins there are varieties/rarities aplenty when you go back a couple more years. For example the 1955 doubled-die penny, the 1942/1 Mercury dime, the 1943 pennies struck on copper planchets, etc. are all truly scarce coins and command big bucks. If you really want to get into collecting minor varieties, pick up some Morgan dollars and look for VAM varieties. The Morgan dollar is essentially America's bun head penny in that there are so many documented varieties with near date, far dates, die breaks, etc. some which are so tiny that no one notices to others that can turn a $40 coin into a $400 coin. I asked about them. unfortunatly (for me) he sold all of them at a fair). he also didn't have any 1966 pennys except a few in the scrap which were YUCKY
