I also think we in the West tend to disregard the incredible contribution of the Red Army in the east. Ultimately the real victors were the US and the USSR.

    CAROLVS III

Seems to be the norm that monarchs and popes choose a name on their accession. I think I read somewhere that Charles would go for George VII.
  6. Interesting listing on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mega-Rare-1876-without-the-H-Victoria-Penny-in-very-nice-grade-FREEMAN-ND-p1/312207155131?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 listed as 1876 no H penny, k Gouby illustrates one from the Bamford collection, but states it was regarded by him as die fill Are any known?
  7. I think Popjoy Mint produced a catalogue a few years ago
  8. Surely a pattern with veil head obverse IIRC
  9. Likewise the 1913 “mules” can be considered as normal, not accidental
  10. You want us to stop talking about pennies!!!!! ?
  11. The inexplainable ones are the high tide bronze coins of 1897, why just this year?
  12. My first home pc was a BBC with a cassette tape, first at work was an Apple ][ with a Z80 card running CP/M

1876 noH penny, does it exist?

I have always considered the 1882 Jamaican CuNi penny without an H to be similar, inconceivable that the mint would produce then in the middle of its refurbishment to split a total Mintage of 48,000

1876 noH penny, does it exist?

    That was my understanding too.
  15. Back in the early eighties we spent £1000 on a state of the art Tandon AT, and a further £1000 on a 100 MByte hard disc. The rest of the lab gathered round in awe, and suggested we had bought far too high a spec disc drive, as we would never fill It!
  16. Or collectors who are not digitally savvy, have never found this forum.
  17. Before I took early retirement, my career was in NHS/university histopathology labs

    Come on ENGLAND

All you can do is perform well with the opposition you are dealt on the day. The performance of others is irrelevant unless you meet them in a later round.

    Is it Harald II?

    I think it’s this Denier, Friesland, Netherlands, Bruno III, 1038-37, +henricusre, vgga/brun/doc
