It would be difficult to find a dealer that is as knowledgeable and as much a gentleman as he..... I believe that I said it before, especially as I collect copper and bronze, that if I could only have 1 dealer to work with, I would pick Michael Gouby. .... -

Brainteaser.....
Bronze & Copper Collector replied to 1949threepence's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
The question you posed was, "Where did the extra pound go?" The "solution", if you will, is the explanation that there NEVER was an extra pound to be found (except possibly upon those 3 who dined at that restaurant [although if 3 people shared 1 meal, I doubt that they have an extra ounce, let alone a pound ]). -

1797 Penny
Bronze & Copper Collector replied to Madness's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Peck is generally considered to be the definitive work on the subject and I believe the 1970 edition is the second printing and most recent edition. A must have reference for your library.... One caveat to remember; there have been many new discoveries since that last printing, so you will have to supplement it with other resources.... However it is the starting point from which all others embark... -
1876 noH penny, does it exist?
Bronze & Copper Collector replied to davidrj's topic in Confirmed unlisted Varieties.
All references to it that I am aware of also consider it a filled die..... Not a true no H... That being said, consider the classic example of the so called 1922 "plain" Lincoln cent (US)... They were only struck at the Denver mint and should have a D mintmark ... However due to a filled die we now have a 1922 WEAK D and the rare 1922 PLAIN.... This example gives credence to the theory that it is merely a filled die..... Its rarity and value will be determined by market demand.... -
I have just listed a dozen pennies & halfpennies on ebay.com (USA). I them for international viewing on the UK site, however ebay rejected 8 of them and I cannot get any definitive reason why that is so. (Maybe next time I'll try listing them on the UK site with international viewing to the US.. Or maybe just list them here, just need to find the original images) Anyway, If you check seller Marys-Marketplace20 on ebay.com, all the listings should be visible.... Since there might be a problem with bidding from international sources because of this , all reasonable offers will be considered from forum members via the forum. Thank you PS: Any transactions made via the forum will net Chris 5%

Pennies & Halfpennies Listed on Ebay
Bronze & Copper Collector replied to Bronze & Copper Collector's topic in Items For Sale
I had set every listing to ship to the UK.... This is the message that I received...... Hello marys-marketplace20, You recently created or revised this eBay listing that included the International Site Visibility feature: 153118209311 VERY SCARCE 1861 F-32, Obverse 6, Reverse F, RARITY-16, GB Penn, However, we had to remove International Site Visibility from your listing. Of course, we won't be charging you the fee for International Site Visibility. Because the laws and eBay policies vary by country, sometimes items that can be listed in your country can't be listed internationally. It's also possible that the listing itself wasn't following an eBay policy in another country. In situations like this, we automatically remove the International Site Visibility feature from the listing. To find out about our global selling requirements, visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/sell_international_requirements.html For more information, contact customer service by clicking the "Help & Contact" link at the top of any eBay page. -
