    couple for ID please

Hi , I'm no expert by any means ,but I think the second one is Harold I, Jewel Cross type, Spink 1163. As for the other one, my first thought was Spanish, because of the castle in one of the quarters, but I could be miles off. Did you dig them up or buy them? .

    1806 Farthing

Hi , I was just looking through some of my coins this afternoon as I like to do and came across this George III farthing that I have had since a boy, easily 45 years or so ago, must have been one of my first coins I collected, bought for a few pence. Well today I noticed it has a weird die axis. Its out by 90 Degrees. Is this a rarity and worth any more than a normal farthing. How I've never spotted it before is amazing.
  7. Here's the reverse , I can make out Adam as moneyer but not Mint , anyone? Richard

    Reverse of Scottish cut half

Thanks Clive, My thoughts were of it being Alexander II in the name of William, short cross phase C. See Spinks ,coins of Scotland and Ireland page14. My coin looks almost exactly like 5034. But maybe i'm too optimistic

You could be right , i think it is a G not C. Many thanks. I cant post a picture at the moment, cameras broken.
  12. Hi all, Just to update you on the Henry IV penny. I contactedJim Brown at DNW and he confirmed it as Light coinage penny, york mint. Its been entered into their next auction on 22 june. with an estimate of £200-250. Fingers crosseed.
  13. Hi all, Another one that i cant quite pin down. I got it down as a Henry IV 'light' coinage york mint. But theres a pellet in the centre of the quartrefoil which is seen on the Heavy coinage. My books dont show this combination. Any ideas?
  14. Hi all, sorting through some hammereds im selling for a friend and have been stumped with these two. your help would be much appreciated
  15. Well with a little bit more research thanks to the Edward IV lead ive been able to establish that one is a Dublin mint , sun and roses coinage . And the other , Drogheda mint, heavy cross and pellets coinage. Please tell me if im wrong. And by all accounts they look in good condition for this type. Any idea what they might fetch?
  16. Sure am, but you can call me Sir !
  17. Cheers for that , i thought EDWARD IV as well, but what about the quarrefoil up by the crown and the reverse anulets and quartrefoils. I cant find it in my books
  18. Thanks for that Rob, much appreciated.
