LCA catalogue now online
Iannich48 replied to Sword's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Well i won two lots at the weekend, both well below my top price that i submitted. Missed out on one other, but happy with the two. -
I think that it could be a proof, but it is very difficult to tell from those pictures.

Class 5 Sub-Class ID of Henry III Voided Long Cross Penny
Iannich48 replied to JTerry3's topic in British Hammered
If it is not a 5a2, then it could be a 5a1, in which case you got a bargain. But I am no expert. -
DNW changing names.....?

You must have been unlucky, the search for British milled just worked for me, then the item to cabinet worked fine as well. Curious website now I agree, has a mind of it's own I think sometimes. -
Certainly nothing like that on any of my George iii crowns.
-
That looks quite interesting. I will check my crowns later, to see if I have something similar.

LCA catalogue now online
Iannich48 replied to Sword's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Not the first that has happened I know. 5 out of 6 lots that i won at one LCA auction were at my max bid. Nice coins though. I just take a percentage off my bids now and funnily enough, i don't win so many, so who knows. -
Good things come to those who wait...... sometimes.

Iannich48 replied to VickySilver's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
The Wootton Sale is online now. One or two lots that i like, so is ok. -
I cannot work out what it is. The colon after BRITT is in a strange position.

1849 Florin MS65 £2200 wow. Very nice coin, so fair enough I guess. -
Just seen it on the rarest pennies site. Definitely worth the £4500 that it sold for.

Looks like yours is the best known then Michael.👍 -
Does that make it an 8 known coin now?
-
I agree, nice coin, but not the best strike, especially on the reverse.

The Tyrant collection
Iannich48 replied to PWA 1967's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I cannot see an 1819 Sovereign in his collection. Disappointing I think.😁 -
I had often wondered if somebody might do that on purpose, just to get a better price on a worn penny.

Exciting new penny variety OR clumsy Patina-like fake?

1903 Penny with squared off bottom loop inside the 3
Iannich48 replied to terrysoldpennies's topic in Confirmed unlisted Varieties.
Definitely squared inside the loop. I don't think that it is a 3/1, as it is too far to the right and away from the 190 in the date. Interesting find.
