Thats 'Not Kansas', not 'Not Canada'..... -
I wasn't sure if these 'valves' were real, or just LED illuminated dummies, but the description at the bottom is crazy.... ..!https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC12V-6J1-Vacuum-Tube-Integrated-Amplifier-Mini-Audio-Hi-Fi-Stereo-Buffer-Preamp/322459868457?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150520070957%26meid%3D719a4248ab144089bfeaf885e2cd0be0%26pid%3D100277%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D392328595369%26itm%3D322459868457%26pg%3D2060778&_trksid=p2060778.c100277.m3477

It was one of a group of pennies, low grade fuzzy picture, and I just had an idea it was an ME. The risk was less because the others pennies had £200 or so value to re-sell, so I left £300 bid, and was chased up to that by someone, but they doubted what they saw more than me. When it turned up, I was rather relieved......and pleased.... The F69 was in a group of three pennies, but the picture was fuzzy, except when I looked at 4am, and it wasn't any more. five hours later at 9am it was back to being a fuzzy picture again. Weird. Almost like ebay at that time was having bandwidth problems, so in the middle of the night they could send more info per picture....laft £350 bid, finished at £16. i checked so many times to see if it wasn't true....

Absolutely. Mine was my F69 and the 1926ME in EF..... I do feel sorry for people just starting out in coin collecting- it's such a minefield now.
-
...and it wasn't a diatribe...!
-
Yes- I forgot the essential differentiation between dealers and sellers. I also forgot to say how much ebay is just a reflection of general society now- "a world within a world" as you eloquently put it. Everyone, sellers of stuff, insurance companies, telephone cold callers, Members off Parliament etc. now just try to see what they can get away with, knowing full well that the rap across the knuckles they will receive if found out is just that - no deterrent at all........
-
Hmm... bad day? Peter's view is also mine. I've had enough of the lying Ebay twats, and the arrogance and rudeness when they are found out. You may well have a business that's all peachy and above board ( including the tax returns? ), but be VERY aware, by choosing to sell on Ebay in 2019, what world you are entering, with whom you are rubbing shoulders, and that after many years of putting up with the immoral morons, some people's tar brushes are very wide.........

Hmm...hopeful idiot or shyster??? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/dorigog0/m.html?item=283536659002&hash=item42041a123a%3Ag%3AP1sAAOSwsU5dE~yv&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Good to see your dyslexia has reached a new owl.

That is soooo good!!

Mine is even better condition, and was a 1/10 of that price, and came with a certificate of authenticity signed by David Attenborough, in an oak presentation box made by Viscount Linley. Your turn Pete.

I'm sure someone mentioned they were looking for a BP1898B penny- the one with the different '8'... I think I have one to spare. Anyone needing one?

I was working at a Pro Audio dealer in London, and I told one of the Techs there that the power amp on my studio monitors sounded fast and clean and happy one day, then would sound slow and unresponsive for ages.... I told him that I'd found out that they had bipolar transistors. 0.000001% of the population get this joke, and 0.00003% of them find it funny........
-
I was the 'tech in the basement' most Saturdays.... I did the record cleaning on that Keith Monks machine. It made an indescribable difference.
-
I worked with West Midlands Audio in Worcester in the late 80's- early 90's, and the nice guy from the company was always in having coffee. We seemed the nearest dealer and we sold loads. Lovely sounding little amp. The only alternatives really were the Creek and the Nytech.

OMG keep me away.
-
Does this mean you have to be quite good at say, piano?
-
If I were fortunate enough to end up with this place, it would have a recording studio in in by the end of the month!!!!

I liked this boat on Mull, particularly because it was at the same set of colours as its surroundings....

A F76 like yours went on Flea Bay for £450 about six years ago- i missed it and I'm still annoyed....!
-
Yes Pete, 30! I had a feeling that all my big bids on the rare stuff might not work, so I left a pile on other stuff- consolation packet through the door. Cheap open 3 to stop me wanting a VF example.... Here's that F69 that was in a £16 lot a few years back... Sorry about the mark on Victoria's cheek - she was impatient while I was taking the pictures and got a bit lippy....
-
I bid on 30, and I got 6 of the cheap ones - the others Mike listed above were rather an indication that Pennies aren't dead yet....;) One day a nice F76 will fall out of a tin, like my nice F69 did.... Hopefully. Sorry about the gap - a pig flew in front of the lamp.
