From the recent DNW auction lot 544 couldn't resist it at £65 plus extras. A standard 1858, but IMO a nice coin.

Can anyone spot anything 'wrong' with this florin? I bought it from @Rob over 4 years ago, and it remains my nicest example of a gothic florin. At the time I was prone to sending some of my nicer coins to CGS (as was) for grading, attribution, etc. I'm not after another debate about the rights and wrongs of slabbing, or the goods and bads of CGS. It was rejected as 'altered' (no further explanation was forthcoming), but I'm damned if I can find anything awry with it!

Have you considered that no TPG is infallible, and that they may simply have it wrong?

Heartening to see the community support around the defaced Rashford mural - and there was a piece on local TV today about primary schoolkids writing letters of support to the 3 who were abused.

Was dreadful - sickening actually. They lost as a team. Pointing the finger at different players in such a situation is not only spiteful (and racist in this case), but also extremely stupid. If anyone was to blame it was Southgate for making tactical errors in the final. Rashford should have been brought on for Kane or Sterling in the second half. Then, had he been needed in a shoot out, he'd have at least been warmed up. As it was the penalty was the only action he'd seen for the entire tournament. Even then, he only just missed. A fraction to the right and it would have gone in, as Donnarumma had gone the wrong way. The racism even more moronic because without Sterling, I doubt we'd have progressed beyond the group stage.

Some absolutely disgusting racism against the three who missed penalties. It wasn't their colour to blame - it was their youth. I personally wouldn't have replaced Henderson with Saka, but ain't hindsight a wonderful thing?

One i bought NOT attributed off a dealers website ,he is a good friend ,so did tell him what it was but happy to sell it me 👍 They are easier to spot with the other indicators ,die crack to the left of DEI and a wider I in Gratia. Dont see many in a decent grade 1848 /6.

This coin was in the first Sovereign Rarities auction of 2018 (1,300 hammer + 5% import duty). Very bright on the whole.. https://www.sixbid.com/en/sovereign-rarities-ltd/5153/british/4309059/victoria-1837-1901-copper-penny-1856?term&orderCol=lot_number&orderDirection=asc&priceFrom&displayMode=large&auctionSessions=&sidebarIsSticky=false

Very pleased with lot No 543 won at the DNW auction earlier this week. It's an 1856 small date PT penny in virtually BU, with extensive lustre. There is unfortunately a detracting mark on the reverse, without which I think it would have fetched a bit more. But still a really nice coin.

Sadly not - toothed on both sides.
