Yes, Gouby doesn't list this one.

I bought this thinking it was a F18 (and probably overpaid in that case), but is this actually a F21 with the bust so close to the outer border ?

He's now reduced the price of the same coin on his website to £107.50 - here

Thanks, Paddy, that tip is absolutely priceless. Like Gary, I have sometimes deleted something by accident or dragged something by mistake into oblivion and that single action would have fixed it. I've just tried it and it works. Thank you again.

There was an 1890Aa (dropped 90) sold on ebay in February 2013 as a Buy it Now, for around £30 from memory. Wasn't listed as that type though. I actually advised someone else about it and think he purchased as a result. I wasn't into the date width variations at that time...….still not really...unless very peculiar. I bet that Rob is enjoying this thread 🤣

Panic over. It has miraculously reappeared - presumably generated by 1&1 as more messages have been dumped there as of 10 minutes ago. Thanks everyone.

yes- I put it on here last year...can't remember what thread... I still have worn example that turned up 30 years ago that I kept as a curio when i couldn't find anything about this variety.

I see that the rotated 9 type you've posted Ian is a 15 tooth example , I also have a similar one with 14 teeth , the bottom one of the group of three Blakey , is the raised up 9 type that your after, the one below , its the 14 tooth type listed by Gouby. There are two other 14 tooth types that ive come across , the bottom one in the group of three pictured has the normal digit spacing with the slightly rotated 9, and the third type on the last coin below, which has the 9 and 8 very close like the raised 9 type, but has all the digits in a straight line , its not listed by Gouby

Me too. Made a bird table yesterday from stuff I had in the garage.

Should be CGS85 (in very minor areas). Quality assurance shouldn't be tainted by vested interests. It doesn't seem like much change since 2015. http://www.predecimal.com/forum/topic/9818-shocking-experience-from-cgs-coin-grading-services-forum-advice-pl/ except for marital status, that is.

No other words for it...bloody hell, Paulus!

I agree with @Paddy ebay is it's own worst enemy with free listings, allowing any nobody to over-grade everything without financial impact. Joining that set is self destruction for any credible dealer or collector.

I agree. Putting grades on Ebay leads to lots of issues - If you grade accurately then you risk no one looking at your items as they are lost in the swill of over-graded rubbish. If you join the over-grading cult you lose credibility with the knowledgeable buyers, or enter into disputes with them. It's a no win!

That doesn't bother me, I don't think it's worth giving a grade on ebay - you just open yourself up to disputes.
