To give people something to do whilst life is on hold, I have attached a short quiz of 20 questions for people to answer. Closing time and date is 23:59 this coming Sunday (10/5/20). PM me the answers and the winner will be either the one with the most correct answers or in the event of a tie, drawn from a hat. The winner can choose from a choice of items as follows: A copy of the BNJ (date to be decided when I've worked out what I've got spare) Davies British Silver Coins since 1816 Spink Coins of England 2020 Decimal Section I'll see what else I've got if the winner has these already. 200508-Forum Quiz.docx

Well i haven't posted much recently about my Encased Farthing Collection so thought I would share my latest acquisition with you. This particular example has been extremely difficult to acquire. This example I managed to buy from a dealer in the USA it's not the best example I have seen, as the obverse shows signs of rubbing to Edward VII head. At least I now have an example for the collection. It's also unusual in the fact that it is the only known example of the British Encased Farthings that has a milled edge, all the others are just plain. I of course will still be looking for a better example if at all possible. So if you ever come across one please get in touch.

Another added to the collection a Gregory & Roche Encased Farthing these are quite scarce so pleased I was able to find an example.

Another added to the collection a Hooper Struve's surround. Although the Hooper Struve's Encased Farthings are the most common ones you will find, and are always turning up quite regularly. Finding one with a 1894 Victorian Farthing is not as easy as say George V or George VI. Very pleased I have got this one, as it may be quite some time before another turns up.

Very true. But never forget, "You're born with nothing, so if you die in debt, you've made a profit."
