CNG Auction 111 offers some very interesting 360 degree views, below is an example. The edge view looking at Alexander's face is spectacular, talk about high relief. https://cngcoins.com/photos/360_images/11100309/index.html

Just shows you how many politicians just spout hot air and haven't actually researched and fully understood their subject. A few years ago one MP was caught out when doorstepping before an election, and defending EU regulations on using metric measurement. They then discussed something else. Just as he was about to leave, the householder asked him what his height and weight was, "Oh, 6' 2" and about 14 stone" came the reply. Then the householder asked him what that was in metres and kilograms - stumped !!!

I think it's I think Spink is just understaffed so the coins side is often a last minute job. The stamps catalogues seem to go up far earlier but I think stamps are bigger hitters than the coins for Spink on the whole. In my experience Spink are generally the last ones to get their coin catalogues ready in contrast to the other auctioneers. So a Spink catalogue will sometimes only turn up a week or even a few days before an auction as compared to several weeks for the typical DNW cat for example. Still, you've got 2 weeks to think about it from the start date. Hopefully that will be enough time!

One of my favourites. Not a dud scene. "The next train's gone!" Someone recently found where it was shot, and the line of the edge of the platform is still there in the ground. My father insisted we went on a train ride in the early '60's - turned out I was on the last BR Severn Valley train. Want a day out? Board at Kidderminster, all the way to Bridgnorth, lunch in a pub, and they sell Bathams beer on the train!!!! Best combination ever.

I have a couple of rose and at least something in the series for every issuer and main type (currently at about 10 coins total), but the goal is to have at least one of every Peck subtype - the 'type 3' Rose farthings are looking like they will be tricky to obtain; since-discovered or Everson types may play a part but this will come together over time. The series seems quite tough full stop as they aren't really ever going to set the world alight, so get buried in any auctions where I saw them for sale, until a farthing specialist sells or a kind forum member drops a high grade one under your nose... Colin G got me a nice Harrington type 2 Peck 54 ex Lingford, ex Rogers and most the rest came from Rob with excellent provenance.

Sheer, unadulterated magic. Thank you Declan and many thanks to Peck for finding it.
