The 1992 is no longer a circulation coin as it is a "large 50p", although to me that explanation doesn't stand up very well. I actually blame media hype instead .. and people looking for a quick buck.

That's very strange - instead of a genuine feedback it just describes what was bought! Almost as it the seller had their own suspicions about her and decided to make sure that any subsequent buyer looking up the seller/item would spot the word "restrike".

Yes.....One guy has bid with him about 350 times in the last week ,he must be getting frustrated to keep bidding for all the same items

Respectfully .. too much wear for EF. GVF seems nearer the mark.

This was one of my purchases yesterday from my regular outings to the Malvern flea fair.... Antwerp coin/trade weight, 15x15mm weight of 3gm. I believe it dates from 1597 but I'm still checking up on that and the makers initials

I wonder if she would like to try out one of these when making the above statements.

An interesting reply from mycopau: I did indeed sell this to the young lady in question - I also pointed out the error of her ways only to be fed with all manor of tall tails! I also informed EBay of the fraudulent listing though as per eBay norm - no action. Looks as if she has had a second attempt at artificial ageing- I suspect through one of her eBay associated sellers. More than happy to publish her details to PD members forum.

Blakey, That "Dot" is footnoted in Freeman's Book on page 74, footnote #16. Michael told me one time that he did not assign #'s to items he had not actually seen and verified, instead he made a footnote listing only.

Definitely the same repro artificially aged. Surely attempting to sell these described as genuine is a criminal offence?

Five minutes ago I sent a message to mycopau alerting them to the marlybob1 listing. Should I receive a reply I'll share it here. I see the one she offered in February went for two and a half grand. There should be a law etc. etc….

Actually, mycopau was quite clever to leave a positive feedback that made it clear the coin was a copy. As a regular seller, she can contact Ebay over negative or neutral feedbacks and get them removed if she can make a case for why they should be. But positive feedback - why should Ebay even discuss getting that taken down! Well done mycopau! 😄

She would just say no I guess. People like that have skin thicker than a Gothic Crown.

She is at it again. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1847-WW-SOLID-SILVER-PLAIN-EDGE-VICTORIA-GOTHIC-CROWN-MY-GRADE-E-F/123730842205?hash=item1cceeed25d:g:Jw4AAOSw9A5criZ1 Are there some raised dots by the V of Victoria? "ITS SOLD AS SEEN BOUGHT AT YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT" "AS IM NOT AN EXPERT" Oh look, her last feedback as a buyer was for a particularly interesting item:

But paradoxically, such a manifestly idiotic statement just reflects back on the intellect of the writer.

I'm sure that if someone buys or sells multiple items to the same person, then it only counts as one feedback score, so 4000 feedbacks with 3964 from the same person counts as 1, doesn't it? A bit tedious, but within the capabilities of a dedicated shill bidder, or someone anxious to build up their reputation. e.g. You sell 4000 identical items to the same person (yourself) and leave 4000 feedbacks. Sorry I'm a cynic.

It's all good fun. People take things too personally. I've had several heated discussions with my eldest who is diametrically opposed to me both politically and on Brexit. But at the end of the day, he's my son, I'm his father and we still get on ok in just about every other aspect of life. You have to be given a voice if you disagree, irrespective of where you are coming from. Echo chambers are a bit like a chocolate teapot.

I don't believe that for a moment - IMO def. NOT a proof!

Very pleased with the 1902 LT (lot 1285) I won at the LCA. True, I did pay over the usual odds for it. But well worth it in my view, as it's about as close to flawless as it's possible to get for a currency strike of that age.

Here's the outcome i think. A second referendum or people's vote as they like to refer to it. Tick box 1) We remain in the EU. 2) We accept Mays terrible deal and remain in the EU. No option to leave! Someone said to me the other day the EU is like Hotel California. I said what do you mean?? , he said you can check out any time you like but you can never leave 🤔

If Parliament burns down then the country can get on with life. That's a win-win.
