    Of course, England was actually more or less France back then.

    Maybe it is out of a BU set, or even an early circulation strike. I don't see anything suggesting a proof in those fields, even if the portraits are frosted.

    Yes Mike i agree and as i mentioned all three are scarce / Rare in high grade.and Peck is not on his own trying to find a high grade 1946. Think you have more chance of being hit by lightning than finding two 🙂

    A dealer I know paid £200 for a large mixed lot at Warwick in the 90s - just to get that farthing. He then took it out, and sold me the rest of the lot ... for £200! Nice work if you can get it, or meet a mug like me..

    Spink is a guidline, and probably a fairly good one. Ebay on the other hand, is somewhat of an oddity where prices and indeed "valuable" coins can be poles apart from mainstream thinking Welcome to the forum too by the way!
