Thanks Chris for all your un-lauded behind the scenes work to host, moderate and maintain the most important and serious (generally) of numismatic forums. I am sure we are all very grateful for what you do, I know my existence would be much impoverished were it not for the Predecimal Forum. Jerry

Note that some may experience bugs on the forum for the next day or so. I am trying to update and old version of the software to the latest version but only got as far as updating the server PHP version today, which may cause (and in fact already has caused) problems for some depending on browser and so many other factors these days. Sorry about that. It'll be worth it in the end!

I'm sick of a recent thread being polluted by heated conversation that is neither enlightening nor remotely related to the thread. This is the dog bit, where you can go to town. Put on your boxing gloves and practise your pugilistic performance here.

If anyone is looking for a really nice N over Z (F10A), I just put a nice one on ebay, from the "Edinburgh Collection". Pardon the glare on the pics. 15% off to Forum Members. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283076180655?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

... and to get back on topic I found this site which has some good pictures of most of the proclamation coins (and a few others): http://www.triton.vg/proclamation.html

Any chance one of the moderators could move all the political ranting in here to the Dog Pit so that we can get on with the very interesting topic of the Proclamation coins?

Agreed, Jerry. Mine would be:- 1/ Keep a sense of humour. 2/ Accept that others beside me have a right to their opinion. We're all different. 3/ I'm not always right. In fact there is usually no definitively right or wrong answer. Life is not 20 maths questions. 4/ Go in with the perspective that you can have a blazing row, but still emerge mates afterwards, shake hands and have that cyber pint together.Whatever's said in here, we leave it at the door and don't talk about it anywhere else. 5/ Never hold a grudge. It's not personal, it's politics. 6/ I'm a rottweiler

I love the idea, though pugilism especially regards politics can lead to ongoing animosity. There have to be rules. My best mate and I have the 9 o’clock rule, on our weekly curry nights with our wives. The men (occasionally sons are present) adjourn to the pub at 7.30. By 9, when the women collect us (this may include daughters) the men are well oiled, and a couple of bottles of wine over curry doesn’t help. Things can get very heated, especially regarding politics. The 9 o’clock rule acknowledges that nothing stated or done after that time is actually worth a damn, and need not be apologised for later. Indeed it is a poor show to even refer back to the previous night. But angry debate is one of life’s great pleasures. So what are the rules here? It worries me a bit that once committed to record, an injudicious comment can be revisited and allowed to fester. Do we have any suggestions for a ‘9 o’clock rule’ equivalent? Jerry

RANT Not you too, @Peckris. This is not the place for political animosity. Why are you all so hell bent on crapping on my thread? Take it outside, gentlemen. If you insist on persisting, here's the place to do it:

One just sold on Ebay Canada for $705, which was either a bargain or a stitch up - I suspect the latter.

Themed collections are an aesthetically pleasing move away from the serried ranks of sameness associated with denomination collecting. Although a themed collection still confers boundaries, the almost inevitably eclectic result obtained on completion will provide interest for many collecting areas. Multiple areas of interest is a diversity that many collectors could benefit from.

I never did understand why they didn't call the album "Roger, Wilco .. not out". Perhaps too obvious?

I'd happily listen to Wilko Johnson all day long.

Thats a good one Mike and not worth bothering about looking for another.

A little number from two of the most accomplished performers I've ever seen. The support isn't bad either.

Before you write off all 'prog' as beyond the pale and unlistenable, try three tracks I've picked at random from my iTunes ...

But this is the denominationless cartwheel, is it not? 🤔

I wish the world were like Chigwick. I'd go outside more often.

@DrLarry @jelida Please take your discussion to PM rather than filling my thread with dross.

We of convict stock have many Neanderthal genetic markers. To dispel another myth, not all of us are called Bruce. Many are known affectionately as "Dickhead" or "Wanker".

Sorry, I can't be doing with all this army greatcoat, groups biro-ed onto school bags, patchouli dabbed behind the ears, stuff. I've always liked toe-tappin' songs. This evening I've been losing myself in the glorious sounds of Dusty, and I don't care who knows it....
