What's the size (diameter)? If it's a genuine Edward I groat it could be worth thousands. But it's more likely to be a silver penny which are pretty common and generally only worth a few pounds. Why not post pictures or scans of both sides so we can see?

That would also show the condition which is crucial to any valuation.
